Special Olympics vs Faelord Twyl

Published on June 19, 2012 by in Primeval Feast, Video

Faelord Twyl is the last boss in Primeval Feast. He appears in the Labyrinth after you complete the event. I love the way this encounter has been designed, it combines fun parts with pay attention parts. I think this would had been a great 20 man raid encounter and it could last more then 7 minutes. But maybe Trion will reuse some of it’s mechanics for future bosses.

Another thing that I love about this fight is that it has 4 phases. I like complicated fights with a lot of different phases or mechanics. Faelord Twyl fight is just great, Trion did a very good job designing it. I hope they keep up the good work. Every now and then we need a dungeon where we can relax.

Faelord Twyl raid composition

This fight is balanced, it doesn’t favor either melee or ranged and the fact that the boss has different mechanics for each phase makes it interesting. Again for this boss you will have to combine single target dps with aoe dps in order to be able to deal with the mechanics. We used:

1 tank: 1 cleric – there is no tank swap mechanic involved in this fight so the need for 2 tanks is not there.

2 healers: 1 senticar and 1 chloromancer was more then enough to keep the raid up.

1 support: 1 bard

6 dps: 2 warriors, 1 cleric, 1 mage, 2 rogues (1 saboteur and 1 marksman).

I need to mention the fact that this is based on the data we got from killing this boss on PTS. As you will notice from the kill video bellow, the encounter is still in the process of being tuned. Some of the abilities don’t work as intended or don’t deal enough damage. The healing setup might have to be adjusted when this raid is going to be released on live.

This video also includes the TS. I thought it would give you an idea of which mechanics you can expect to see a change in.

I will update this with a kill video from the live servers as soon as the raid becomes available.
